Tommy Fury stuns KSI with controversial decision despite point deduction
Tommy Fury stunned KSI via majority decision on Saturday at AO Arena in Manchester to remain undefeated in professional boxing after six rounds. The controversial result occurred despite the point deduction for the winner.
Fury, 24, only landed 12 jabs the entire fight and 39 total punches, one more than his opponent. KSI, 30, called the decision a "robbery" and claimed he will appeal the decision.
"It's a robbery," KSI said during the postfight interview with Ariel Helwani. "How many jabs did he land? You weren't landing. Look at your face, look at your eyes. I understand, you're the boxer, I'm the YouTuber. You have to win.
"I won 1-3 and the point off. It's outrageous. The amount of times he hit me on the back of the head. He was trying to eff up my equilibrium. We're gonna appeal. I'm sorry, that's outrageous. I felt like I wont that."
Referee forced to intervene between KSI, Fury
One judge scored the contest even at 57-57 and the other two went 57-56 in favor of Fury, who had a point deducted in the third round due to punching KSI on the back of his head.
KSI kept lowering his head and went the entire fight without protecting his face, instead looking to hurt Fury during inside work.
The referee was forced to separate the two fighters on countless occasions, which made some believe the result should have been a draw.
