Stephen A. Smith falls to knees while pleading LeBron James and Anthony Davis for one thing
Stephen A. Smith has developed a reputation for saying some outlandish things. Although on TV he cuts an eccentric figure, deep down he's really a simple man.
That simplicity means he enjoys the sunshine and good weather, particularly in California. In order to enjoy that climate, especially in the summertime, Smith needs help from some Los Angeles Lakers players.
Stephen A. Smith begs Anthony Davis
During First Take on Friday, Smith literally dropped to his knees while begging Anthony Davis to bring his "A-game" every night in order for the Lakers to make it to this year's NBA Finals.
Smith took a slight shot at the city of Denver, openly saying he doesn't want to go to that city for the Finals, which he had to do last year when the Nuggets won it all.
Smith understands that the only way for the Lakers to make it there is for Davis to play like the 8-time All-Star that he is. Davis has been inconsistent, mostly due to injuries, during his time with the Lakers.
Davis was impressive in the Lakers' Thursday night win over the Phoenix Suns, scoring 30 points on 58.8% shooting, grabbing 12 rebounds and getting three steals and blocks apiece. If the power forward does that every night, Lakers fans - and Smith - can realistically dream of a return to championship basketball.
Following the win, LeBron James said in the postgame interview that "we don't give a s*** about criticism about (Davis)".
