De la Hoya calls Canelo vs. Charlo 'super boring' and urges promoters to make the biggest fights
Canelo Alvarez's win over Jermell Charlo last weekend at the T-Mobile Arena generated a lot of criticism, including that of promoter Oscar de la Hoya.
'Golden Boy' described the fight as "super boring", pointing out that the American fighter only went to collect a check, while the Mexican won easily.

In addition, De la Hoya called on promoters to meet and analyze the possibility of organizing more "super fights", so that boxing doesn't disappear completely.
"f we want boxing to survive, if we want boxing to thrive, we need super fights like all the time," De la Hoya said on social media.
"Fighters must fight each other. We have to come together, promoters, Eddie Hearn, Al Haymon, Bob Arum, whoever is out there - let's come together, I'm calling you out.
"Let's come together, let's meet, the power of the minds, and come up with something because boxing can die. I'm calling you all out, let's do this."
However, Boxing News 24 states that De la Hoya's request may not be in the best interest of promoters, as they may not want to expose themselves by putting their lucrative fighters against opponents who could beat them.
The outlet points out that even 'Golden Boy' himself puts his fighters like Ryan Garcia, Jaime Munguia and Gilberto Ramirez against opponents they are favoured to beat.
