Tom Brady and his sons celebrate with Djokovic after US Open win: 'Keep kicking ass'

T
he US Open is in full swing and it has been attracting attention from stars and former stars of other sports, with NFL legend Tom Brady showing his support for Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic.

The Wimbledon 2023 finalist has made it into the final of the US Open on his return to the tournament after his inability to take part due to not receiving the COVID-19 vaccination.

It wasn't a big task for Djokovic to make it into the final as he won his semi-final in three sets against unranked American Ben Shelton.

After the match, he was seen in conversation with Brady who only recently retired from professional action, having made himself the most successful NFL player of all time.

The X, formerly Twitter, account of the US Open shared a video in which Brady and his three sons can be seen greeting Djokovic after he reached his 10th US Open final.

"Keep kicking ass, like always," Brady said. "Trying, trying," Djokovic responded.

Brady and his sons were not actually at Djokovic's match against Shelton and Brady was quick to explain why to Djokovic.

"I wish we could've seen you play tonight," Brady said. "But [the kids] had school in Miami, so we had to let them finish, then we flew up. But I was hoping you'd have the night match."

New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was in attendance and Djokovic said after the game: "It was a pleasure to have Aaron in the stands tonight for the match. I'm hoping he enjoyed himself. Obviously him, Tom Brady being in my box for Roland Garros finals and sitting next to my wife, was a huge honor. I have a relationship with Tom for several years. We go back. I have tremendous respect for him."
