Derek Carr connects with Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas in Saints debut
Veteran quarterback Derek Carr made his anticipated debut with the New Orleans Saints in the first week of the NFL's preseason.
Carr led the offense all the way to the endzone in a flawless first drive against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Carr's opening drive
The 31-year-old was on the field for a total of 12 snaps in which he orchestrated a great debut possession for the Black and Gold ending with a 4-yard touchdown pass to Keith Kirkwood.
Carr's numbers for the day were 6 of 8 completions for 70 yards and 1 TD.
In the opening series that put the Saints up 0-7, Carr successfully delivered passes to Juwan Johnson, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, Keith Kirkwood, and Chris Olave.
Saints' preseason schedule
For the Saints' remainder schedule in the preseason, the team will travel to Los Angeles next week to face the Chargers on the NFL's only game on Sunday, August 20.
They will also hold a joint training session with the Bolts during the week.
The Saints' third and last preseason game on Sunday, August 27th at Ceasars Superdome against the Houston Texans will also close the NFL's schedule before the start of the regular season on September 7.
