Andy Ruiz ready to replace Dillian Whyte against Anthony Joshua
Andy Ruiz sent a video message to Anthony Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn on Saturday to let them know he's ready to replace Dillian Whyte, who failed the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association [VADA] test ahead of next Saturday's fight.
Ruiz, 33, has fought Joshua twice before and was a replacement for Jarrell Miller in 2019. The Mexican-American boxer defeated the British fighter and took his belts before losing them in the rematch six months later.
A trilogy fight for all the marbles this upcoming Saturday would be even better than the Joshua-Whyte rematch.
"Let's get it," Ruiz said via social media. "Eddie Hearn, Joshua, I think I found the new replacement, again. Let's run it back. Let's get the trilogy. Let's get it."
Nothing is official as of now, especially since Whyte will likely appeal the VADA decision and look to still fight at the O2 Arena in London next weekend.
Andy Ruiz looks better than ever
Joshua, 33, has always been in spectacular form and still managed to lose to an overweight Ruiz.
Ruiz has gone through a spectacular physical transformation over tha past year and looks better than ever.
He could be a favorite to defeat Joshua if Hearn ends up making the fight happen.
One of the only reasons for the Ruiz-Joshua trilogy to not happen is if the Mexican-American demands too much money as he reportedly did in what would have been an incredible fight against Tyson Fury.
