While Rapid Bucharest opted for a defensive approach, it was Slovan Bratislava who controlled the majority of possession and created more scoring opportunities. The deadlock was broken in the 8th minute by Marko Tolic, who displayed precision from close range after a well-executed set piece. Rapid Bucharest attempted to regain momentum after the halftime break, but their efforts were quickly quashed as Slovan Bratislava caught them off guard with a swift and devastating counterattack.

Sharani Zuberu showcased his exceptional skills as he confidently bypassed the Moldovan defense, scoring with composure and leaving no room for emotions.
