KSI fight against Joe Fournier ruled as 'No Decision' after review of brutal elbow KO
Back on May 13, KSI defeated Joe Fournier with what appeared to be a brutal KO but the replay clearly shows how the Youtuber used an illegal elbow to get his win. The PBA just came out with a statement about the fight after carefuly analyzing the evidence. They are ruling the fight as a 'No Contest' because they acknowledged KSI's elbow usage. This means that Fournier remains an undefeated boxer and KSI is not a cheater. After the announcement, both fighters had interesting reactions that won't leave anybody indefferent. While KSI hints at a possible rematch, Fournier did brag about keeping his undefeated tag despite that fight.
HEre's what the PBA said on their official statement that was sent to all media outlets for release:"Even though KSI was winning the fight, the blow with the forearm-elbow has been found to be accidental and the obvious disappointment that will follow, it has been decided that the contest is declared a no decision in accordance with the rules. The PBA has conducted the review properly, fairly and with legal assistance throughout as the bout was sanctioned and regulated under the unified rules of boxing. We have ensured that this process was conducted swiftly and fairly to uphold the integrity of boxing."
Is a KSI vs Fournier rematch even possible?
A potential rematch between KSI and Jor Fournier is definitely possible but a number of things need to happen before it becomes official. First, the fighters need to reach an agreement on a date, the purse value and the spli. Plus, they need to clear up their schedules for this second fight and agree they want to fight each other again. KSI didn't seem too eager to get inside the ring with Fournier again but it appears to be a decision driven by boredom. Fournier did seem pretty excited for a rematch though, could this happen before the end of 2023?
