Jake Paul's confession: I was drinking, using... But boxing came along to save me
YouTuber and boxer Jake Paul expressed his opinion during an interview that the sport saved his life. The fighter, who moved to Los Angeles with his brother Logan, recognizes that life changed him, that he no longer felt like himself due to the drugs he was taking.
It was at that point that boxing came along to guide his life. "I was drinking, doing drugs, doing all kinds of crazy things in Los Angeles, not being myself. Because that's what happens when you're drinking like that and doing everything like that. I needed something to save me and boxing came out of nowhere," the boxer confessed in an interview on DAZN.
It should be remembered that Paul, who had his first foray into boxing in 2020, has beaten fighters like Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley and Anderson Silva. Paul lost his unbeaten record in February 2023, after losing to British Tommy Fury, the first boxer he fought.
Among his upcoming challenges is a fight scheduled for August against former UFC star Nate Diaz.
"This is a big fight that I've wanted for a long time," assured Paul. "Diaz is out of his UFC contract and this is probably the biggest fight of the year.
