Usyk lashes out at Fury after fight talks fall through: He wants to copy Muhammad Ali, but he's a bad copy
Boxing fans will not be able to see a fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury anytime soon, as the Ukrainian has decided to put an end to talks.
Usyk has hit out at Fury and explained the reasons behind his decision to stop negotiating with Fury over a potential fight.
"I see that nothing is happening, he is trying to play with us, and I told him: 'That's it, goodbye'," Usyk said in an interview with a Ukrainian media outlet
"He wants to copy Muhammad Ali, but it's a bad copy.
"He says, '70/30, I am the king. It's all thanks to me.' I don't respond to that. I understand that this is mind games.
"The king is the king. And the king does not need to shout that he is the king."
Dubois will be Usyk's next opponent
The World Boxing Association (WBA) ordered the Ukrainian to fight Daniel Dubois next.
The official notice was sent to the fighters' teams on Monday, and they will have 30 days to negotiate from April 4 until the May 2 deadline.
"It will probably be Daniel Dubois at the end of the summer," Usyk added.
"I will go to the UK. I love it very much. My first big wins were in the UK. Anthony Joshua. I like it here, I like the fans, the people."
Should Usyk and Dubois fail to reach an agreement by May 2 or in the event either side refuses to negotiate, the WBA is likely to send the fight to auction with a 75 percent split for Usyk and 25 percent for Dubois according to fightnews.com.
