Ja Morant to stay away from Grizzlies indefinitely, enters counseling program
Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant has no timetable for his return to the team after entering a counseling program in Florida on Monday, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Morant, 23, has been sidelined due to brandishing a firearm on his Instagram while at a strip club, Since then, footage of the night from the club's cameras has gone viral, exposing Morant's wild spending.
The NBA is still investigating the incident despite Colorado officials finding Morant innocent of breaking any laws.
Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins previously stated that the issue at hand is Morant needing to learn how to be a better leader.
In his statement accepting responsibility, Morant also stated that he would seek "help and work on learning better methods of dealing with stress" and his overall well-being.
Ja Morant can lose it all
Morant was intially expected to miss just two games before getting pushed to four.
Jenkins then announced there would be no timetable for his return and there is little time left to go in the regular season.
If Morant comes back at all, he would have to get back into the rhythm of things prior to the postseason.
It is possible, however, that Morant decides to just take the rest of the year off to deal with his mental health, which is probably best for all parties involves.
