Damian Lillard surpasses Michael Jordan: 13th time he scores 40 or more points
Damian Lillard has been outstanding so far this season. The Portland Trail Blazers point guard netted 41 points with 12/22 from the field on Wednesday, but couldn't help his team beat the New Orleans Pelicans, who grabbed a 121-110 win.
This was the 13th time Lillard has scored 40 or more points this campaign. With his performance against the Pelicans, Lillard surpassed Michael Jordan for having the most 40-point games in a season for players age 32 and over.
Jordan managed to do so 12 times in his last season for the Chicago Bulls back in 1997/98.
Meanwhile, Lillard scored a franchise-record 71 points in a 131-114 win over the Houston Rockets a few days ago.
"They'll never give me credit for what I've done," Lillard told the Point Forward podcast.
"Unless I just come out here and win a championship for Portland. They better pray I don't win a championship for the Blazers."
