The battle that will shape the NBA: Celtics are just one win ahead of Bucks
In the NBA's latest 'Power Rankings', the Eastern Conference giants set the pace. The Boston Celtics, boasting a 37-16 record, are the best team in the league and the Milwaukee Bucks are just one win behind, at 36-17.
Meanwhile, the Denver Nuggets have the same number of victories as the Bucks but have recorded one loss more than Milwaukee.
Following Boston's defeat to the Phoenix Suns, the Bucks closed the gap on the Eastern Conference leaders. Meanwhile, their leaders have been standing out, with Jayson Tatum registering 34 points and 11 rebounds against the Detroit Pistons and Giannis Antetokounmpo managing 24 points and 13 rebounds against the Portland Trail Blazers.
Both teams have been solid thus far, but Milwaukee have struggled in offence, being the 23rd NBA team in offensive rating, mainly due to the prolonged absence of one of their star, Khris Middleton.
As for Boston, Joe Mazzulla's side are among the four best teams in attack and defence, with their stars Tatum and Brown impressing again on the court.
In the West, Denver Nuggets' Nikola Jokic has been averaging a triple double per night (24.8+11.3+10.1) in his bid to win his third straight MVP, while Jamal Murray has stepped up this season.
They could bring on another player to push for the NBA title, as second-year guard Bones Hyland could be traded before the deadline.
