John Isner sets another record: First tennis player to win 500 tie breaks
John Isner, 39th in the ATP rankings and one of 15 Americans in the world's top 100, will be able to boast some of the most illustrious trademarks in tennis when he hangs up his racquet.
Isner, winner of the record-breaking match against Nicolas Mahut in the first round of Wimbledon 2010, which stretched over three days, also holds the fastest serve in history - that clocked 253km/h in a 2016 Davis Cup series against Australia.
Similarly, John Isner has had the most aces with 14,142 he added 63 to that tally this week in Dallas.
And as of Saturday, with his 7-6(8), 7-5 win over Ecuador's Emilio Gomez, he became the only player who has been able to win 500 tie breaks in his favour, with a 61 percent success rate.
