Injury woes for Chiefs with Super Bowl a week away
Four Kansas City Chiefs men have been included by coach Andy Reid in the list of the doubtful players ahead of the Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 12, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Receiver Mecole Hardman picked up a pelvis injury and he is highly doubtful for the game. Meanwhile, neither wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster nor fellow wide receiver Kadarius Toney trained all week through knee and hamstring injury, respectively.
Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed also missed practice due to concussion and was included in the questionable list along with his three teammates.
"Chiefs WR Mecole Hardman did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful on the team's estimated game status," NFL Insider for ESPN, Field Yates, posted on Twitter.
"WR JuJu Smith-Schuster, WR Kadarius Toney and CB L'Jarius Sneed also didn't practice this week and are listed as questionable on the team's estimated game status."
The designations are expected to be updated on Friday. Meanwhile, quarterback Patrick Mahomes has recovered from an ankle knock and he is fully fit to feature in Super Bowl LVII.
Both Toney and Smith-Schuster are expected to be fit for the crucial duel, but Hardman may miss out according to Reid.
"I doubt [Hardman] will make the Super Bowl," Reid told reporters on Thursday.
"He was not going to be denied the other day. That's a tribute to the kid. He push himself like no other. He's a tough, tough kid."
