Canelo Alvarez shows up to Warriors-Lakers, looks tiny next to Steph Curry
As Canelo Alvarez prepares for his upcoming fight in Mexico, the boxer took some time off from training in Los Angeles to show up to the Warriors vs Lakers game at Crypto.com Arena.
Warriors star Steph Curry, who was inactive (still recovering from a lower leg injury), spotted Canelo and went up to him. Curry is a big friend and fan of the Mexican boxer, and he greeted him by hugging him and posing for a picture.
Curry, who is 6'2 (4 inches below the 2023 NBA average height of 6'6), looked like a giant next to the boxer. And it was no optical illusion, as Canelo stands at 5'8, a half-foot shorter than the NBA star.
Several fan replies on social media poked fun at the height difference, saying things like "Steph could body Canelo" or "Canelo is bite-sized". The truth is, both already took part in a funny spar session at a golf tournament in 2021. Which in reality ended up just being a bout of shadow boxing.
