Are the Memphis Grizzlies real title contenders in the Western Conference?
Young, extremely fun and eager to compete, the Memphis Grizzlies have impressed this season in the NBA.
Boasting a potential MVP in Ja Morant, as well as top-notch supporting players, such as Desmond Bane, the main question is whether they should be considered as title contenders in the Western Conference.
Currently sitting second-top in the West behind the Denver Nuggets, many NBA fans may wonder how good the Grizzlies can be in the playoffs.
In last season's playoffs, the Golden State Warriors overcame the Grizzlies in the Western Conference semi-finals.
This season, Memphis sought for revenge, but the Warriors have already beaten them twice.
Following the Warriors' 123-109 win in December, Draymond Green teased Dillon Brooks by showing him how many rings he has.
From that point on, the Grizzlies struggled to bounce back, recording just six wins in 14 games. They decided against strengthening their roster in January, only signing Luke Kennard.
An important win over Denver
Morant has been called to step up and lead a talented side. He did so on Saturday, when a superior Memphis beat the Denver Nuggets 112-94.
"It was a playoff game, they ran more, they didn't miss and we weren't prepared for that," Denver coach Michael Malone admitted.
