Mahomes and Travis Kelce take revenge on Burrow
There was plenty of fighting talk for fans to enjoy after the Kansas City Chiefs made it to the Super Bowl after getting the better of the Cincinnati Bengals.
There were comments from Mike Hilton at the end of the Bengal's divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills which gave the Chiefs all of the motivation that they needed to reach the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs beat the Bengals 23-20 in the dying seconds of the game and quarterback Patrick Mahomes and tight end Travis Kelce addressed Hilton who called Arrowhead Stadium 'Burrowhead' after Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow's play there last year.
"Burrowhead my ass. It's Mahomes' house," Kelce said.
"We showed this place is Arrowhead, it's not Burrowhead out here," said Mahomes. He spoke again when he took to the stage on the field to accept the Lamar Hunt Trophy for winning the AFC Championship.
"Is this thing still called Arrowhead? What does it sound like out there?" Mahomes said. Many think that it was ambitious of Hilton to call the stadium 'Burrowhead' given Burrow had only played in one game at the stadium. It did end with his work taking the Bengals to Super Bowl 56.
Burrow completed 26 of 41 passes for 270 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions. The second pick was a tipped ball on a deep shot to Tee Higgins late in the game. Burrow also rushed four times for 30 yards.
The Super Bowl 2023 is going to take place on Sunday, February 12 and it will be contested between the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles after the latter got the better of the San Francisco 49ers in what was a very comfortable win.
