Dani Alves' wife comes to his defense after his arrest for alleged sexual abuse
Pumas player Dani Alves has been arrested this Friday accused of alleged sexual assault in a nightclub in Barcelona on the night of 30 to 31 December 2022.
The Brazilian international has been taken to court and after making a statement the judge of Instruction number 15 of Barcelona will decide whether he goes to prison or is released on bail.
The player has denied the facts from the first moment.
"I was there, in that place, with other people enjoying, without invading the space of others," he said.
"I don't know who that lady is."
His wife Joana Sanz has closed ranks with her husband and the model has used her social media to support the footballer, who is going through one of the lowest moments of his life.
"Together", the woman posted on her Instagram profile with a photo of their hands intertwined.
Joana has also thanked both her loved ones and anonymous people who are giving her support in such a delicate moment as this.
"Thank you for so many messages of support and tokens of affection," the model from the Canary Islands added.
"I've felt very wrapped up in this dark beginning of the year. I will return like the phoenix."
In the hands of the judge
The victim alleged that the ex-footballer touched her without consent in the aforementioned premises during the Christmas holidays.
The player was reported on January 2 and has now made a statement at the police station, while the judge will now decide.
Dani Alves left Barcelona at the end of the previous season after the club decided not to renew his contract.
The Brazilian signed for Pumas and played the World Cup with the Brazilian national team.
At the conclusion of the World Cup he came to spend a few days in Barcelona where the events for which he is accused took place.
