Chelsea's sales season begins
After taking the January transfer window by storm, Chelsea have decided to put some of their players up for sale. The Blues have signed Ukraine international Mykhailo Mudryk from Shakhtar Donetsk in exchange for 100 million euros and they have spent 10m euros to secure Joao Felix's services on a six-month loan deal.
Meanwhile, they are close to signing 20-year-old winger Noni Madueke from PSV Eindhoven for 35m euros. This means that Chelsea need to offload some forwards in their bid to make space in their squad.
The Blues have decided to put Raheem Sterling, Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic up for sale for much less than what they cost.
Chelsea paid 40m euros to get Ziyech from Ajax in February 2020. Shortly before that, they had spent 65m euros to bring in Pulicic from Borussia Dortmund. Last summer, the Blues invested 50m euros in Sterling's signing from Manchester City.
Recovering part of the investment
Chelsea currently sit 10th, as many as 19 point behind leaders Arsenal. They are in need to recover at least small part of their investment but the aforementioned players could depart for figures below what their signings cost.
