Mayweather set to put undefeated record on the line again long-time foe Pacquiao

Back in 2015, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao faced other in match that was half a decade in the making. While Mayweather ultimately prevailed the pair could be set to face each other once more in the near future.

With their previous fight generating close to 500 million pounds in revenue, it is no surprise that promoters are keen on staging a rematch.

However, with Mayweather's last professional fight coming against Conor McGregor back in 2017, Global Titans, who are promoting the American's next exhibition fight are claiming they have successfully convinced the boxer to come out of retirement.

Mayweather v Pacquaio

"We're working on Floyd and Manny Pacquaio already," Global Titans CEO Uday Singh said.

"And the announcement could be made as early as December for a big bout next year for Floyd and Manny Pacquiao. A rematch, not an exhibition.

"I've already had the first meeting with Manny Pacquiao, because at first he was not keen either.

"It's just egos, nothing else. But at the end of the day, Floyd's a good guy, he's a good fighter.

"Once you've satisfied him with his purse, he's happy to fight whoever. But it's to his interest as well, he said, 'Why not? Let's do it.'

"He hasn't had a real proper fight since 2017, the last one was with Conor McGregor.""

Singh on Mayweather

Singh also stated how his biggest challenge was convincing Mayweather to stage it as a professional bout as opposed to the exhibition moniker he was keen on.

"Yeah, it was hard. But then again, at the end of the day he knows what people want and he's an entertainer," Singh elaborated.

"He knows he's got three to four years left of his career as and when he wants to retire, so he agreed to it eventually.

"Then we went out and spoke to Manny Pacquiao's team and they said, 'Yep, it's fine. Manny Pacquiao is ready.'

"Now we're negotiating numbers and all of that."

Singh also provided specifics regarding the timing of the proposed fight, with the match set to take place sometime in 2023.

"It will be in Las Vegas, either in the summer of 2023 or the Autumn, around September or October," Singh continued.

"We're looking at the summer, around July or August. But first, he'll fight with us in Saudi Arabia in February or Match."
