Jets trade draft pick for Jaguars RB James Robinson
The New York Jets acquired running back James Robinson from the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday in exchange for draft compensation, according to Ian Rapaport of NFL Network.
Jets are replacing the injured rookie RB Breece Hall with Robinson.
Hall, 21, sustained a torn ACL on Sunday and was ruled out for the season on Monday after evaluation.
Jacksonville will reportedly receive a future sixth-round draft pick from New York.
Running back Michael Carter was slated to take over RB1 duties from Hall, but was also ruled out, leading to trading for Robinson.
James Robinson stats
Robinson, 24, was coming off an Achilles injury to start the 2022 season and is two years removed from a 1,000-yard rushing campaign.
This season, Robinson hasn't been efficient, averaging less than four yards per carry in three different contests.
In Week 6, Robinson got zero carries as Travis Etienne Jr. became the leader in the backfield.
Robinson is likely going to be the starting ball-carrier for the Jets (5-2) moving forward.
