Haaland scores again as Man City steamroll Southampton
Manchester City cruised to another big home victory on Saturday, putting four past Southampton without reply.
Erling Haaland was on the scoresheet again, but only once after netting hat-tricks in his previous three home Premier League games.
Cancelo breaks deadlock
The first goal of the day came on 20 minutes when Joao Cancelo went on a mazy solo run before tucking the ball beyond Gavin Bazunu.
Phil Foden then went from provider to scorer with a neat dink over the goalkeeper after Kevin de Bruyne had played him in.
Haaland cut a frustrated figure in the first half, particularly after striking the post with a right-footed effort after being played in on goal by Foden.
Another two in the second half
Five minutes into the restart, the game was put to bed when Rodri's clipped pass to Riyad Mahrez was volleyed in smartly by the Algerian winger.
On 65 minutes, Haaland finally got in on the act. Cancelo played a one-two with De Bruyne down the left before the Portuguese cut the ball back to the Norwegian who tucked away the finish.
The victory puts City top of the Premier League, although Arsenal can regain their spot if they beat Liverpool on Sunday.
