Benzema to miss out for Real Madrid against Sevilla and RB Leipzig due to muscle fatigue
Karim Benzema will play no part for Real Madrid against Sevilla. The Frenchman, who had been included in the initial matchday squad list provided by Carlo Ancelotti on Friday, is suffering from muscle fatigue, the European and Spanish champions said in a statement.
The news comes as a blow for Real Madrid, leaving them without the Ballon d'Or holder.
"After the tests carried out today on our player Karim Benzema by the Real Madrid medical team, muscular fatigue has been detected in the quadriceps of the left leg," the club's statement said.
The striker will not be available for the visit to Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Real Madrid hopes to have Benzema back for the game against Girona on Sunday, October 30 at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.
