Messi gives Neymar and Mbappe a lesson in humility
Paris Saint-Germain beat Brest 1-0 on Saturday thanks to a fine goal from Neymar to make it three Ligue 1 wins in a row for the Parisian side.
Christophe Galtier made some changes to the side that beat Juventus in the Champions League, with Juan Bernat replacing Nuno Mendes on the left flank and Danilo at centre-back in place of Marquinhos.
Gianluigi Donnarumma, the new coach's big bet to replace Keylor Navas, was unchanged.
"There will be no rotation between goalkeepers, I'm not that kind of coach," Galtier warned in his pre-match press conference.
Donnarumma was PSG's standout performer against Brest and that does not speak well for the Parisians. The former AC Milan goalkeeper saved a penalty from Islam Slimani and produced a number of fine saves, one in particular from a shot by the Algerian.
PSG did manage to hit the target eventually. Neymar received a ball from Lionel Messi, controlled with his right foot and shot with his left to put his side ahead in the 30th minute. It was the Brazilian's eighth goal so far in Ligue 1 in a particularly good start to the season.
The goal count was kept down by the good work of Bizot, who saved all the Parisians' subsequent shots.
There was also time to see Fabian Ruiz make his debut for PSG. The Spanish midfielder came on for Marco Verratti in the 62nd minute and supported the team in midfield.
Pablo Sarabia also played the last 15 minutes, while Sergio Ramos remained unchanged at the back.
It was the third successive Ligue 1 win for the defending champions this term, with Monaco the only team who have been able to hold them thus far.
