Erling Haaland is the man of the moment. He has started incredibly well at Manchester City with 10 goals in six Premier League games so far.

The forward has been on the lips of Premier League fans around the world since the season started, and now they have another reason to discuss Haaland after his new documentary was released by Viaplay.

The documentary is entitled: 'Haaland: The choice', and it focuses on the decision he made regarding his summer transfer away from Borussia Dortmund.

Naturally, there were questions about why he chose Manchester City, with the Premier League champions beating competition from the likes of Real Madrid to sign Haaland.

"How can you say no to a club like Real Madrid?," a journalist asked Alf Inge Haaland, the City star's father.

"Good question," the senior Haaland responded after a few moments of silence. "You can't really.

"We had some criteria in mind - who needed a no.9? Manchester City were a 10/10 option. Real Madrid were just a 5/10 or 6/10 because of how Karim Benzema is playing right now.

"And we were thinking 'will they sign Kylian Mbappe?'."

It's clear that the Haalands thought long and hard about the move, but there is an obvious appeal to joining Real Madrid.

For now, though, Manchester City were the right club at the right time.
