First touchdown of the 2022 NFL season: Josh Allen's spectacular pass to Gabe Davis
The Buffalo Bills left things where they started last season literally, receiver Gabe Davis scored four touchdowns despite being eliminated in the Divisional Playoff Round before the Kansas City Chiefs, but in the NFL Kickoff their offense started on fire, no matter that in front of them was the spectacular Los Angeles Rams defense.
This Thursday night at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles California, quarterback Josh Allen commanded a new 75-yard, 2:04-minute offensive series in which he completed all five passes he attempted for a total of 58 yards.
Josh Allen completed all five passes he attempted
Allen did not have to attempt long passes and was complemented, unlike last year by a balanced ground attack in which on four carries he gained 17 yards including nine on two carries by Devin Singletary.
But the culminating play was a spectacular play action in which Allen rolled to his right side and found an unmarked Davis, who scampered 26 yards to the end zone, the first touchdown of the 2022 NFL season.
Aaron Donald, controlled by the Bills' offensive line
Notably, defensive tackle Aaron Donald was unable to get a single pressure on Allen, who began his journey that many consider to be the favorite to be named the MVP this season.
The Bills are the favorites in Las Vegas to win Super Bowl LVII and if the first offensive series is any indication, those predictions could give the New York State team its first-ever Vince Lombardi Trophy.
