Davante Adams says Aaron Rodgers is the best QB in the NFL: "He had the Michael Jordan effect"
Davante Adams is ready for a new NFL season, but his first wearing the black and silver uniform since this offseason he was traded away for the Green Bay Packers to the Las Vegas Raiders, where he'll play with his former college quarterback and roommate at Fresno State, Derek Carr.
But before he was traded he spent eight years playing alongside the current back to back MVP of the league in Aaron Rodgers, for whom he had some kind words even now that he's wearing a different jersey.
Davante Adams spoke about Aaron Rodgers on 'The Pivot'
This week at Raiders training camp, Davante Adams spoke on "The Pivot' podcast and had some words of praise for his former quarterback at Green Bay, Aaron Rodgers, calling him the best in the league.
"He's the best quarterback, in my opinion, to play this game," Adams said of Rodgers, before adding a very strong comparison to one of the best athletes of all time.
"He had the Michael Jordan effect. ... (He's) gonna make you play better ... just by being on the field."
And he then added to how he held everyone accountable with his mere presence.
"You would always notice in OTAs . . . there would be times he wasn't practicing, and you would just notice people start to like, not fall off [by] not practicing hard, but it wasn't the same as when Aaron is out there," Adams concluded.
Davante Adams talked about desiring to win with the Raiders
Davante Adams may think that Aaron Rodgers is the best quarterback to play in the NFL, but he still thinks that his current team, the Las Vegas Raiders have a legitimate chance at competing for a Super Bowl.
He also told "The Pivot" that Derek Carr is extremely underrated, and pointed to his teammates Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller as other offensive receiving weapons that are a menace when left one on one just like himself.
"I ain't come here just to be cute and hang out with Derek," Adams said while adding he wants to hoist a Vince Lombardi Trophy at the end of the year.
