Ancelotti: Asensio? He's looking to leave...
Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed that Marco Asensio is willing to depart Real Madrid this summer. The Italian coached discussed about his player's future after being named UEFA Men's Coach of the Year for 2021/22.
Asensio's contract runs until next summer and his future is up in the air. The Spain international is not considered as undisputed starter at Los Blancos and he is looking to try his luck elsewhere.
"Marco is looking at something to see if he can leave," Ancelotti said.
Real Madrid are already considering offers for Asensio, although those that have arrived do not fully satisfy their demands. Meanwhile, Asensio has not received offers that have completely seduced him, something that, for example, Manchester United did manage to do with Casemiro.
The Spanish forward changed agent at the end of last season. Now it is Jorge Mendes who is handling the offers coming in for the Spanish international, who opted for a change of representative as his contract with Real Madrid is coming to an end.
Los Blancos are not ruling Asensio's potential departure until the last day of the transfer window on September 1 following Mendes' appointment.
In the three official games Real Madrid have disputed this season, Asensio has only played seven minutes despite Rodrygo Goes' absence through injury in the two LaLiga games played by Los Blancos so far.
