Mexico Soccer Riots: Queretaro GM thinks the violence was planned

The General Manager of the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro, Adolfo Ríos, reported that he risked his own life and that of his son by getting down from his box and jumping into the stands and the pits of La Corregidora Stadium in order to assist people who were being viciously attacked during the Liga MX game against Atlas.

Ríos said that he accepted the club's responsibility for the lack of security at the game and said that they will abide by the sanction imposed by Liga MX in what he considered a fatal day in the history of Mexican soccer.

Was it a planned event?

In addition, the former goalkeeper of several teams and of the national team, admitted that everything seems to indicate that the aforementioned violent events were planned by members of the barras bravas of the Gallos Blancos de Querétaro.

"It was a matter that detonated, it seemed that there was an agreed situation, in exactly one minute in the match to be able to detonate a lack of control as it was detonated and precisely according to that there was no possibility on the part of the elements that were there, to react, because they were overcome in every way," said Ríos in an interview with TUDN.

A day after the events, there are still no arrests for the events, but in Ríos' own words, those processes are ongoing.

Querétaro filed a criminal complaint

"We have filed a criminal complaint for whoever is responsible, then that complaint has also been filed against the security company that was overwhelmed in the whole situation. I went down to the field, it is regrettable what I had to see, there are no words to express what I experienced", said Ríos.

Does Gallos Blancos have a relationship with the barras bravas?

Finally, Ríos referred to the alleged relationship between Querétaro and the subversive groups that are referred to as "barras bravas".

"There is no relationship in the situation of facilities with the barra, they are all season ticket holders, they all buy their ticket to be able to enter the stadium, they are not given a preferential price, they are given the discounts that are given to all the fans in Querétaro," said Ríos.
