Tyrese Maxey says he can't wait to play alongside a James Harden-Joel Embiid duo
The Philadelphia 76ers have quickly become title contenders after acquiring James Harden and Paul Millsap from the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two future first-round picks.
Asked about Harden's arrival to Philly, Tyrese Maxey said he's excited to play alongside two MVP-caliber players like Harden and Joel Embiid. Maxey, who is averaging 16.9 points per game this season, has become an integral part of the Sixers roster while the Simmons saga unfolded.
Two MVP-caliber players in Philly
"It's two MVP-caliber players, on top of what we have here already," Maxey said. "I think one thing that's really going to help us - the chemistry, and the brotherhood that we have here. It's going to be great. I can't wait.
"It's easy to welcome someone in. Guys like each other, like being around each other, like talking to each other, and like playing extremely hard for each other on the court. We'll try to make the transition as easy as possible."
The 76ers (32-22) are currently the No. 5 seed in the Eastern Conference. Meanwhile, Nets (29-26) lost its last 10 games to slide all the way down to the eigth spot in the East.
