NFL Rams: Matthew Stafford is the most pressured QB of the Wild Card weekend
Matthew Stafford has a heavy burden in the 2021 NFL playoffs to eradicate.
Stafford has one of the best offensive squads in the NFL, the most productive wide receiver, a healthy squad, but he counts with a negative record in the NFL playoffs.
The LA Rams quarterback has a 0-3 playoff record. He added eight interceptions in the last four games, and the eyes of the Rams' fandom and NFL analysts point to him.
Everyone is looking at Stafford, a quarterback with an ambitious head coach and a contender squad who faces the most crucial game in his professional career.
NFL Analysts: Stafford is the QB with more pressure.
There was a belief that Stafford didn't succeed because he was the quarterback of the Detroit Lions.
Stafford never indeed had enough talent around him. However, he was considered a premium NFL quarterback.
According to NFL analyst Ryan Clark, it is time for Stafford to prove his talent.
"This is the game where excuses stop," said Ryan Clark. "This is time for Matthew Stafford to rewrite his entire career (...) change the perception of who he's been as a player for over a decade. (...) It's put up or shut up."
Stafford replaced Jared Goff to install the Rams in a Super Bowl contender position, for LA Times journalist Bill Plaschke, there are similarities but one major difference between both quarterbacks.
The Rams are heading ito face the Cards, "with a quarterback who has too often complemented his brilliance with brain cramps, a guy who has occasionally resembled Goff in all but one category," Plaschke said. "Goff won three playoff games. Stafford has yet to win one.
Indeed, the press is on the verge of Stafford's performace on Monday Night against Arizona.
