Kroos: We have to remember who is watching us on the pitch

Toni Kroos has issued a public apology for his actions in Real Madrid's recent Copa del Rey tie with Elche, admitting that he has to remember who is watching when he is on the pitch.

Kroos was shown a yellow card for dissent as he protested against a refereeing decision made by Jorge Figueroa Vazquez, although replays would show that the German made no contact with an opponent during a foul given against him.

"In times of high emotion it's hard to stay calm sometimes," Kroos posted on his Toni Kroos Academy app.

"You may have seen this situation at the weekend where I received a yellow card that I didn't fully agree with.

"I think it's okay to argue with referees or other players if you don't agree with a decision, but I strongly believe it's important to act respectfully on the pitch, especially to be a good role model for our children, we have to remember who is watching us."

Adblock test (Why?)
