DeMar DeRozan sinks buzzer-beater from deep to give Bulls win over Pacers
The Chicago Bulls (23-10) won their sixth consecutive match thanks to a DeMar DeRozan game-winner from downtown to defeat the Indiana Pacers (14-22) at Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Bulls are now the number one seed in the Eastern Conference standings.
It wasn't a great shooting night for DeRozan, going 8 of 24 from the field, but he stepped up for Chicago when it most counted. The buzzer-beater was his only 3-point make on three attempts to end the night with a game-high 28 points, plus three rebounds, six assists, and three steals.
With 10 lead changes in the first 30 minutes of action, the game was even most of the night, but Bulls took command in the second half. It wasn't until halfway through the fourth period of play that Pacers took their first lead since the second quarter, courtesy of Domantas Sabonis.
Sabonis records 26th double-double this season
Sabonis now has a double-double in three straight games, marking his 26th of the season after ending the night with 24 points and 14 rebounds. He also added six assists in 40 minutes of play, but the big man's efforts were not enough to stop the Bulls.
Caris LeVert contributed with 27 points in 37 minutes, adding six rebounds and six assists. Justin Holiday had 16 points, while Myles Turner and Torrey Craig each added 10 more for Indiana.
Bulls are unstoppable for the first time in years
Bulls are currently on a six-game win streak, the first time they've managed such a run in four years. They're also 13 games above .500 for the first time since 2016.
Chicago will look to continue this hot streak with a January 1 face-off against the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena. Indiana will hope to shake off this tough loss as they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday at Quicken Loans Arena.
