Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes already knows what he wants his next job to be
Patrick Mahomes is one of the best, if not the best quarterback in the NFL right now, plus he is still in the early part of his career, retirement looks a long way off, however, it is never too early to think about your career after being a player, and that a mission for the current Kansas City Chiefs passer.
Interested in Royals and Sporting KC
Despite being fully focused on the Divisional Round matchup against the Buffalo Bills, Mahomes has expressed interest in investing part of his fortune to become part of the ownership group of the MLB's Kansas City Royals and MLS' Sporting Kansas City as a learning process for what he wants his future life to be.
"This is just a start, honestly," Mahomes said. "I want to invest in the Kansas City community, and I want to have something that my kids will be able to have once I'm gone. You buy into these great franchises that love Kansas City in the hope that one day you could become one of the majority owners of something. I don't know what that is yet, but that's the hope one day."
A young entrepreneur
That approach is a while for a 26-year-old like Mahomes, but the quarterback imagines eventually doing something like what John Elway and Peyton Manning are attempting with the Denver Broncos.
"I don't think you've been able to see a football player be able to do that yet, but it's definitely something I've looked into. It's a long process, and getting to learn from some of these people that run great franchises now is definitely going to help me in the long run."
In the LIV edition, he won his first Vince Lombardi Trophy by defeating the San Francisco 49ers and in the LV edition he was on the other side of the coin when he lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
