Benzema and Vini: Real Madrid's super couple for the Supercopa
Real Madrid are coming into the Supercopa de Espana as Spain's best side, and they have two fearsome forwards in Karim Benzema and Vinicius Junior leading them from the front.
The pair have combined for 29 LaLiga Santander goals this season - Benzema hitting 17 and Vinicius scoring 12. That total rises to 36 goals across all competitions.
With a date with Barcelona on the horizon, Benzema and Vinicius are in perfect condition. As well as their 36 goals, they've got 17 assists between them too, and the No.9 has just hit his 300th and 301st goals for the club, allowing him to go within seven goals of breaking into the top three of Real Madrid's all-time scoring charts.
Alfredo Di Stefano is next for him to overtake on 308, with Raul's 323 and Cristiano Ronaldo's 451 still a bit away.
Vini's rise
Vinicius has proven himself to be Benzema's perfect partner. His talent has exploded this season, and his years of frustration are now behind him.
?Returning to the XI against Valencia after COVID, the Brazilian looked as though he hadn't missed a beat, giving Cristiano Piccini constant nightmares. Now he'll hope to get the better of compatriot Dani Alves against Barcelona.
