Tebas: I don't think it will be possible for Barcelona to sign Haaland
Barcelona claim to be able to do business in the coming winter transfer window, yet LaLiga president Javier Tebas feels their ambition to sign Erling Haaland is out of the question.
Xavi Hernandez is keen to bolster his squad as soon as possible and, although the Norwegian is more of a summer target than a winter one, Tebas still believes that Barcelona's economic hardships will prevent them from sealing such a deal.
"I don't think it's possible for Barcelona to sign Haaland because of their [economic] numbers and the financial limitations," Tebas said at the LaLiga TwentyNine event.
"There would have to be many circumstances and [agent Mino] Raiola does not sell on the cheap, he sells high."
Barcelona were among three clubs to have rejected a deal with CVC in the summer, although they are said to be in talks with the fund now.
Tebas, however, is not aware as to why they are chatting.
"Yes I know that Barcelona are talking to CVC, but I don't know what they are negotiating," he said.
"On the lawsuits, when Real Madrid are involved it's scary. We are used to it.
"We have more than 50 and today we know that we have won another. If I had heeded all the threats I wouldn't be here today."
