Off-the-bench Tyler Herro takes the Heat to victory against Pistons
Tyler Herro just completed his 31st career game scoring 20+ points coming off-the-bench on the Miami Heat's victory over the Detroit Pistons. Although they were facing one of the weakest teams in the NBA this season, Heat still struggled spectacularly to get this victory. If it hadn't been for Herro's heroics, things could've gone quite differently at the end of the fourth quarter. It was actually a balanced game between both teams as they tied the first quarter, Pistons won the second and the Heat won the third. Everything was set for the last quarter and there really wasn't a clear dominant team.
Tyler Herro was a constant coming off-the-bench, he proved to be a sharp shooter in clutch moments when his team needs him the most. With 29 points, he led the Heat to a 115-112 victory. Kyle Lowry was also important for the Heat with 21 points and Max Strus got 26. On defense, Omer Yurtseven got an impressive 12 rebounds. Pistons responded with Trey Lyles scoring 28 points this evening and Saddiq Bey getting 23. Cory Joseph also made his contribution to the cause with 21 points. But Tyler Herro was the main man of the evening to give the Heat a much-needed victory.
What's next for the Heat and the Pistons?
After tonight's win, the Miami Heat reached a 20-13 record in this NBA season. They rest for a day before facing the Orlando Magic in Florida next Sunday. Detroit Pistons have a terrible 5-26 record this season after tonight's defeat. They also rest for one day before making a trip to Texas, where they will face the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. It's been quite an entertaining game from both sides despite having the Pistons as one of the worst teams in the NBA this season. The fans deserved a competitive game like this one right before Christmas.
