Leicester v Norwich: The first Premier League game of 2022 to be postponed
The Premier League has announced its decision to postpone the game between Leicester City and Norwich City that was scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 1, at 15:00 GMT.
According to the league's statement, the game was called off due to positive COVID-19 cases and injuries within the Canaries' squad.
"The Premier League board confirmed the decision after meeting on Thursday, December 30, with the fixture, which was due to get underway at 15:00 on Saturday, now to be rearranged after Norwich City confirmed it has an insufficient number of first-team players available to fulfil the match," read Leicester City's statement.
This is the second Norwich game that has been postponed so far, as the Premier League had previously called off their duel with West Ham that was scheduled to take place on December 18.
Meanwhile, Leicester City have seen three games be cancelled including Saturday's one with Norwich, as well as the matches against Tottenham (December 16) and Everton (December 19).
