Zac Stacy, on the run, faces 2 felonies after beating ex-girlfriend
Former NFL player Zac Stacy is facing two felony charges as a result of the brutal attack in which he beat his ex-girlfriend and mother of his baby.
The two charges are aggravated battery and criminal mischief, according to police documents obtained by TMZ.
In the event Stacy is convicted, the aggravated assault charge carries up to 15 years behind bars, and the criminal mischief charge carries up to 5.
Police initiated a pursuit for Stacy
The Oakland Police Department has reported that after responding to the domestic violence call within two minutes, they initiated a pursuit for Stacy, still unable to locate the former Rams player.
"Efforts are underway to capture Stacy, and we would urge him to turn himself in and face the criminal charges," an OPD spokesperson told TMZ Sports.
For her part, Stacy's ex-girlfriend is appealing for anyone with information on the former NFL player's whereabouts.
"I don't know why his friends are hiding him, if you see him, he drives a white Kia Optima, a 2020 I believe or a 2021," the woman said in a video message.
According to the same police documentation, the woman suffered injuries to her face, torso and legs, plus the 65-inch television that was destroyed is valued at $1,000.
Former NFL player attacked his ex-girlfriend
Stacy mercilessly attacked his ex-girlfriend and mother of their child, punching her in the face and whipping her with a television and a piece of furniture, images that were captured on video.
The disturbance happened last Saturday around 2 p.m. in Florida, at the home of Stacy's ex-girlfriend.
Stacy was drafted by St. Louis in 2013. After 2 seasons with the Rams, he joined the New York Jets in 2015 and later played in the Canadian Football League and the Alliance of American Football (AAF).
