Young Dolph: Rapper shot and killed in Memphis, law enforement sources confirm
The rapper Young Dolph was shot and killed in Memphis on Wednesday, three independent law enforcement sources confirmed to Fox13.
Maurice Hill, the owner of Makeda's Butter Cookies where the shooting occurred, said his employees saw Young Dolph, 36, walk into the store to buy cookies.
Minutes later, someone approached, shot, and killed him around 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses captured footage of police at the crime scene while other bystanders shouted: "There's no way these people just killed Dolph!".
Who was Young Dolph?
The rapper, whose real name is Adolph Robert Thornton Jr., was well known in the Memphis community.
In 2016, he released his first studio album, King of Memphis.
On Twitter, DJ Akademiks lamented the young rapper's death:
"RIP Young Dolph."
According to FOX13, some people are lying on the ground crying.
So far, there is no information about anyone arrested.
