Pedri wins the 2021 Kopa Trophy
Barcelona midfielder Pedri was awarded the Kopa Trophy, one which is handed to the finest player under the age of 21 in men's football, at the Ballon d'Or ceremony that took place on Monday.
The 19-year-old prodigy stood out last season with his performances both with the Blaugrana, but also for Spain in last summer's 2020 European Championship.
Pedri received more votes than outstanding talents such as Mason Greenwood, Bukayo Saka, Jeremy Doku, Ryan Gravenberch, Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Jude Bellingham, Giovanni Reyna and Nuno Mendes.
"I want to thank Barcelona, the national team, my teammates, and dedicate the award to my family who are always there," said an emotional Pedri.
"Special mention to the island of La Palma who are going through a hard moment."
