Lebron James back? The King could return for Lakers against Celtics
The on-court woes for the LA Lakers seem far from over, but good news would provide a boost to the franchise's morale and level of play as LeBron James could make his return next Friday against the Boston Celtics.
James, who has been out for two weeks due to abdominal strain, has made significant physical progress and would have a major goal of returning to the Lakers' lineup by Friday, November 19, according to ESPN.
Lakers coach Frank Vogel said last Sunday that LeBron has started individual workouts in recent days as he looks to regain the fitness to return to play.
The impact of LeBron's absence
During the two weeks that James, 36, has been away from the court, he has missed seven games, though he has been out a total of nine games during the 2021-22 NBA season, including a sprained ankle that caused him to miss two games.
James has not played since November 2, when the Lakers defeated the Houston Rockets 119-117. Since then, the Lake Show has a 3-4 record after painful losses to the Thunder, Trail Blazers, Timberwolves and Bulls.
Therefore, LeBron's return to Los Angeles, 8-7 record so far in the current season, is a must. Next Wednesday, the Lakers begin a five-game trip in Milwaukee.
