Lakers' update on Lebron James' return from injury
Lebron James is currently recovering from a rectus abdominis strain he suffered on November 2 against the Houston Rockets. Since then, the Lakers have struggled to get back on the winning streak they had with Lebron on the court.
The last two games have been positive for the LA team though, with Anthony Davies, Russell Westbrook and Carmelo Anthony showing up against the Charlotte Hornets and the Miami Heat. But last night, they lost against the Minnesota Timberwolves with an alarming 107-83 result.
Coach Frank Vogel recently revealed Lebron is already back on the training sessions working hard to return as quickly as possible but the latest injury report isn't that promising. Lakers' scooper Harrison Faigen just reported that Lebron is still out of next Sunday's game against the San Antonio Spurs.
He still has some pain to deal with on his abdominal area and he can't recover in time for the next game. Chances are that he will be out of activity between 7-10 more days. But not all are bad news for the Lakers, who have some important returns coming for Sunday's game at Staples Center. They are getting back a player who broke his thumb on October 8 against the Warriors.
Who is available for the Lakers on Sunday?
Talen Horton-Tucker was the man who suffered a broken thunb during October 8 game against the Golden State Warriors. The injury report confirms he is probaly going to return on Sunday. Another player who will probably return is Anthony Davies with another thumb sprain recovery.
Kendrick Nunn and Trevor Ariza are also out with their respective injuries still in recovery. But the biggest question remains: can Lebron James return soon or is he already suffering the inevitable withering that comes with father time? If they suffer another loss similar to last Friday, James might just jump on the court regardless of his abdominal injury.
