Dortmund's plan to keep Haaland for one more season

Erling Haaland is hot property at the moment and has attracted attention from top clubs all around Europe. His current side Borussia Dortmund are well aware of the Norwegian's admirers and are doing all they can to avoid losing their star man in the 2022 summer transfer window.

The Bundesliga side are prepared to make the young forward the best paid player in their squad, offering him a salary of 18 million euros per season.

That's according to German newspaper Bild and the deal would make him by far the highest paid player at the club, with the current highest earners Marco Reus and Matt Hummels receiving 10m euros per season.

The hope is that Haaland accepts this lucrative offer and potential suitors like Real Madrid, Chelsea and Manchester City will be forced to wait until the 2023/24 season if they want to secure his services.

Haaland is currently recovering from a hip injury which he suffered in October against Ajax.
