Di Maria on Mbappe's future: He knows what direction he wants to take

There is still yet to be a resolution regarding Kylian Mbappe's future at Paris Saint-Germain, with the likelihood of him joining Real Madrid increasing with each passing week, but now club teammate Angel Di Maria has added to the speculation.

Di Maria spoke to RMC Sport about the future of Mbappe, who he can see leaving the Parc des Princes come the end of the season.

"The reality is that this kind of thing is a personal decision. Kylian knows what direction he wants to take in his life, in his career as a player," Di Maria told RMC Sport.

"Obviously, we would like to tell him to renew, not to leave, but they are personal decisions. It is a gift to have the opportunity to play with him."

No one will influence Mbappe

Neither Zinedine Zidane nor Lionel Messi will influence Mbappe's decision on what step he should take next, as Real Madrid watch it all unfold.

Come January 1, 2022, Real Madrid will be able to begin negotiations with Mbappe, a player who they have been following since his youth.

For now, Mbappe is focusing on performing for PSG and letting his football take centre stage, rather than the media coverage which has followed since the possibility of him leaving PSG for Real Madrid emerged.
