Curry leads Warriors to first win vs. Durant since leaving Golden State
In one of the most anticipated duels of the first half of the season, the Golden State Warriors proved to be the strongest team in the NBA with an authoritative 117-99 win over the visiting Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.
Curry vs. Durant
In addition to being the duel between Western and Eastern Conference powers and a possible preview of next year's NBA Finals, this game represented the duel between the two leading scorers so far this season, the leader in that category was Kevin Durant and his pursuer was Stephen Curry.
The "Chef" dominated the matchup in every aspect, in terms of points, the Golden State's player scored 37, while the Brooklyn's player scored 19 (his lowest number so far this season).
Curry and Durant played three seasons together with the Warriors and together they won two NBA championships.
Two years ago, Durant left Golden State injured and went to Brooklyn where he sat out a year and last season, "KD" won both meetings against his former teammates.
Nightmare night for "KD"
In the third quarter, Kevin Durant missed all eight shots he attempted and the Warriors won 35-18 that partial.
Curry's best teammate for the Warriors was Andrew Wiggins, who contributed 19 points, which helped Steve Kerr's team return to victory after seeing a seven-game winning streak come to a halt last Sunday when they were defeated by the Charlotte Hornets.
The top scorer for the Nets was James Harden, who scored 24 points.
What's next?
