CeeDee Lamb returns to the fun but hurts Dak Prescott with an unfortunate celebration
CeeDee Lamb is a team player. He smiles, he has fun, he lifts the spirits of his teammates. Lamb is always into something funny. Even when he does something that irritates you, it's hard to get mad.
The Cowboys receiver was all that Sunday in the Cowboys' 43-3 thrashing of the Falcons at AT&T Stadium.
Lamb had six receptions for 94 yards and two touchdowns. The Cowboys receiver had so much fun that he forgot about the left arm contusion that forced his rest before the end of the game.
He also had no problems with his sprained ankle, which suffered against the Broncos last week. Lamb was unable to shine for the Cowboys' offense in a tough 30-16 loss.
Lamb was not at a high level in that game and lacked explosiveness. But on Sunday, he came back and showed that he's one of the best at his position.
The receiver had a standout performance off the line of scrimmage and made cuts that had the Falcons' defense worried.
"I felt a lot better," he said. "I was able to cut, to move without thinking about anything, and eventually everything fell into place."
Lamb injures Prescott
Lamb had so much fun against the Falcons that his joy transcended the game. After his second touchdown, Dak Prescott, sans helmet, saw his receiver and went over to him to hug him.
"I come off the field, put my helmet on, and then I see CeeDee walking past me," Prescott said. "So I give him a hug and tell him good job, and I guess he thinks I have my helmet on, so he leans over to take a swing with the helmet, mask in cheek."
Lamb left a reddish mark on Prescott's right cheek.
And of all the hits Prescott took Sunday, Lamb's was the most impactful.
"Yeah," Prescott said, "I mean the hardest hit was CeeDee on the sideline."
The Cowboys receiver has been at it again.
