49ers spoil Odell Beckham's debut and beat the Rams for fifth time in a row
The San Francisco 49ers soured Odell Beckham Jr and Von Miller's debut with the Los Angeles Rams and caused a nightmare night for Matthew Stafford.
With two touchdown passes from Jimmy Garoppolo, the 49ers beat the Rams 31-10 Monday night for their first home win in more than a year.
The Niners (4-5) had lost four of five games and were in danger of being out of the playoff race before turning in a near-perfect performance against the Rams (7-3).
This was the 49ers' fifth consecutive win against the Rams.
Garoppolo threw TD passes to George Kittle and Deebo Samuel, Samuel also ran for a touchdown, and Ward returned one of his two interceptions with a touchdown for San Francisco's second home win in the last two seasons.
Interestingly, the other also came against the Rams on October 18, 2020.
Garoppolo finished 15 for 19 for 182 yards and the two TDs.
The Rams lost for the second straight week with Matthew Stafford throwing two interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown.
OBJ and Von Miller's debut
Odell Beckham Jr. made his Los Angeles debut after signing last week, but had just two receptions for 18 yards.
Von Miller also played for the Rams for the first time and had three tackles but did not put pressure on Garoppolo.
