The LA Lakers' crisis: 11 losses in a row and on-court fights between their players
The Los Angeles Lakers are falling apart, as the giant NBA franchise have now lost 11 consecutive games. Three of those were in last season's playoffs, six were in pre-season and two have come at the beginning of the new term.
Beyond their form, though, there are clearly problems in the dressing room as well. Those flared up for all to see during their latest loss against the Phoenix Suns, as they fell 115-105.
Dwight Howard and Anthony Davis did their best to turn the game into a UFC bout during a second-quarter timeout. The two started arguing on the bench before starting to exchange blows, leading to their teammates rushing in to separate them.
"We solved it at that way at the time," Howard explained.
"We had a disagreement about something that had happened on the court."
Howard then didn't play in the second half and Magic Johnson said that he, in 42 years associated with the Lakers, had never seen something like that.
"The Lakers have a basketball problem and a team problem," he said.
A fan removed for touching Rondo
Rajon Rondo had problems of his own on the night as well. During the third quarter, he got into a discussion with a fan in the front row, with the supporter unhappy about his performance.
Rondo then pointed to the ground where the fan had spilled his drink and pretend to shoot him with his hand. The fan slapped his hand away and was immediately removed from the arena.
By then, the Suns had already built up a 30-point lead.
